Motion Ward has effortlessly joined dots between contemporary strains of ambient, shoegaze, trip hop and lowercase wonders by the likes of Hysterical Love Project, The Humble Bee, Ulla & Ultrafog, Perila, et al for the last decade. For TTT, the duo showcase creaking folk, pop, cosmic blues and jazz vapours, all steeped in a sort of downbeat Americana and wrapped up with rare, intimate air, like a mixtape made for a lover.
It follows a recent ‘10 Years of Motion Ward’ mix, issued for the label’s 2025 Japan tour, with a broader insight to the label’s tastes, largely swerving anything that may be termed hyper contemporary or explicitly upfront for a clearly timeless selection that joins dots between spirits and eras, touching grass and a rhizome of vibes ripe for the last days of summer.
